Day 1: Marrakech – Imlil – Toubkal Refuge Transfer to the mountains (approx. 1.5 hrs). Pick-up near your hotel or Jemaa el-Fna square. The drive follows a winding mountain road to the Berber village of Imlil (1,740 m), where mules are ready for your luggage. The first day is entirely uphill. The trail is not difficult, but you will feel the elevation gain. Lunch will be served at the Sidi Chamharouch pilgrimage site.
-
Walking time: Approx. 5 hours.

Overnight: Toubkal Refuge (3,200 m / 10,499 ft).
Day 2: Summit Day (Mount Toubkal) Today is the big day! You will leave the refuge (3,200 m) before dawn—don't forget your headlamp. An early start offers the best chance for breathtaking views at the summit (4,167 m). The trail starts very steeply with some light scrambling before leveling out. Near the pass (4,000 m), you may feel the altitude (headaches or nausea). The golden rule: walk slowly and steadily to acclimatize. At the top, a fantastic 360° view awaits; on clear days, you can even spot the Sahara. The descent takes about 2.5 hours—be careful on the final section as it is quite steep. A well-deserved mint tea and late lunch will be waiting at the refuge.
-
Walking time: Approx. 7 hours (4.5–5h up, 2.5h+ down).
-
Note: Experienced hikers can continue down to the village of Aremd (1,900 m) after lunch.
Day 3: Descent to Imlil – Return to Marrakech Descent to Imlil. Energy boost option: An extra climb this morning to the Tizi Ouanoums pass (3,685 m) for a stunning view of Lake Ifni (+3.5h round trip). Otherwise, enjoy a leisurely walk down, reflecting on your achievement. Transport will be waiting in Imlil to take you back to Marrakech. If you booked through us, we will drop you off at a charming Riad in the Old City, where you can soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the souks and street performers.
