This evening excursion from Marrakech lets you experience the atmosphere of nomadic desert life in a single evening. Not the Sahara Desert, but the vast, stony hills of the "Stoney Desert of Agafay." Here, you'll experience the hospitality of the nomads and Berbers. You'll sip tea in a camelhair tent with stunning views, take an impressive camel ride, and enjoy a delicious dinner under the stars. The Berbers create a wonderful ambiance with their drum music. From the bustle of Marrakech, we'll drive you to this beautiful place in about 45 minutes! For an evening you'll never forget.
Together with the locals
We organize all of Maroc Travel's trips and excursions directly with locals whenever possible. For this evening experience, we'll take you to a charming spot run by locals. This also means they don't sell alcohol. Still want to enjoy a drink during this beautiful evening? Our driver is happy to take you to the supermarket in Marrakech so you can bring your own bottle of wine or something else alcoholic. That's also cheaper compared to the expensive glamping bivouacs that are popping up like mushrooms in this rocky desert, so close to Marrakech.
The Marrakech Desert – Agafay
This desert experience is ideal if you don't have enough time to travel all the way to the Sahara Desert. The high sand dunes of the Sahara Desert are over a seven-hour drive from Marrakech. It's best to plan at least five days for this so you can also enjoy all the beautiful sights you'll pass along the way, such as the impressive Dadès and Todra Gorges, and the many ancient Kasbahs along the Route of the 1000 Kasbahs.
